Digital coins are like money, a store of value and medium of exchange. Coins take the form of native blockchain properties like Bitcoin (BTC). Other coins are considered Altcoins like Litecoin (LTC) and Monero (XMR), they have their own blockchain. Tokens represent a particular asset or utility and usually reside on a coin's blockchain. Our Top 5 Coins:

  1. Bitcoin - Digital Gold
  2. Ethereum - Smart Contracts
  3. Litecoin - Digital Silver
  4. XRP - $ Transfer Utility
  5. NEO - Chinese Blockchain

The main difference between altcoins and tokens is in their structure; altcoins are separate currencies with their own separate blockchain while tokens operate on top of a blockchain that facilitates the creation of decentralized applications.

You are able to trade bitcoin and altcoins normally for USDT, BTC, ETH and others.  You can also buy and use Automated Trading Bots like Haasbot and GunBot for algorithmic trading. Cryptocurrency Trading is an alternative way to get involved in the Crypto World!

The Exchanges we use - as of 12/17

  1. Bitfinex
  2. Bittrex
  3. HitBTC
  4. Coinbase GDAX
  5. Kucoin

While Kucoin is the newest and smallest exchange that we use, we like it best. Kucoin has a fun user interface, is very intuitive and easy to use. Best of all, Kucoin shares trading profits with its members by distributing coins and tokens to each account based on the number of Kucoins that you have on account.

caution: trading and lending platforms can be prone to hackers and scammers.

Crypto Lending Platforms

You can invest cryptocurrency in lending platforms that involves earned interest profiting. These platforms also offer crypto staking features and some have optional Affiliate/Network Marketing Programs for added income. Programs we have like:

  1. BlockFi Interest Account (BIA) lets you put your crypto to work and earn monthly interest payments in the asset-type that you deposit with BlockFi.
  2. Coinlist offers 5.84% interest on USDC, SAI, TUSD, GUSD, and PAX. and 2.92% on ETH and BTC, 5.11% on ZRX, XRP and REP, and 3.65% on BAT.
  3. Crypto.com offers 6% on USDC, TUSD and PAX, and ETH, BTC and XRP, making it an appealing option for a broad spectrum of investors and hodlers.

Each of these programs have proven to be reliable and trustworthy. But do your own due dilligence to determine your best fit.

Crypto Mining and Staking

Crypto mining is a part of what makes cryptocurrencies unique. Apart from trading cash for cryptocurrencies on exchange sites, you also have the option to mine cryptos. Anyone can buy special mining equipment, join a mining pool and earn coins. Or, you can buy a mining contract with a mining "hosting" company.  CryptoCrony uses GENESIS MINING for Bitcoin mining, and HASHFLARE for Ethereum mining.

Basically, staking involves taking the money you would have spent on mining hardware and purchasing high-stake coins from a crypto exchange, storing them in a wallet, and from there watching the balance grow.  CryptoCrony Stakes PEERCOIN.

There will be many crypto-millionaires created in the coming years and since you are visiting this introduction to cryptocurrency, you are an early adopter and might become one of them.  However, please keep in mind that while there will be much success and wealth created in the "cryptoverse", many cryptocurrencies and blockchain companies are going to fail. So do your due diligence faithfully and don't get caught up in the hype.  Define a strategic approach for yourself and a crypto portfolio that reflect your interest, knowledge and risk tolerance. Explore HYIP programs, HYIP scams, and best HYIPs, and differentiate Coins vs Tokens.  If you approach this new frontier with intelligence, resourcefulness and caution, you might become one of the lucky ones.  Good Luck!

Getting started with crypto is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

We became interested in Bitcoin in 2013 and began investing in 2014. Since then, we have explored cryptocurrency mining and staking, and now subscribe to hosted mining services and have multiple staking wallets.  We have been very active on the ICO scene since January 2017, and have explored more than 50 ICOs.  While a few were very successful and most returned 1x-3x, a few were duds causing us to further develop our ICO assessment criteria. Finally, we chose to take a risk on multiple High Yield Investment Platforms (HYIPs) that we think will be around in the future. However, this is the area where scams and Ponzi schemes frequently emerge. At this point, federal regulations are beginning to provide safety.

We believe the current state of cryptocurrency is emerging from a "Wild Wild West". It has been a very risky environment and we think you should only invest funds that you can afford to lose. There is a steep learning curve to navigate the environment and to manage wallets and coins/tokens, which are easily lost. There are scammers and hackers lurking all over. In addition to high volatility, there are coin whales, crap coins, bogus ICOs, scams and Ponzi schemes all cleverly designed to separate you from your money. However, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is a revolution that will change our relationship with money and all of our transactional interactions. Over time the cryptoverse will become ubiquitous and easy to use, and free from most bad actors.

Crypto allocation is different for everybody depending upon your interest, your financial resources, and your tolerance for risk. Independent due diligence and input from your financial advisor is strongly recommended for any investment in cryptocurrency. Again, we suggest investing only what you can afford to lose since crypto is still immature and risk laden. Our crypto is allocated in the following manner:

  • 50% Bitcoin
  • 20% Altcoins/Tokens
  • 15% Mining (Bitcoin & Ethereum)
  • 10% Lending
  • 5% Trading

Cryptocurrency Capitalization

Market capitalization refers to the total dollar market value of cryptocurrency coins and tokens. Commonly referred to as "coin market cap," it is calculated by multiplying circulating coins/tokens by the current market price of one coin/token. The investment community uses this figure to determine a currency's or company size.

Satoshi Nakamoto

Satoshi Nakamoto is the name used by the unknown person or people who designed bitcoin and created its original reference implementation. As part of the implementation, they also devised the first blockchain database. In the process they were the first to solve the double-spending problem for digital currency. They were active in the development of bitcoin up until December 2010, and began what is arguably the biggest currency transformation of all time.
